MYRIAD Learning and Dissemination Event

Join us on 16th of July, 2025 as we share learning from the two-year MYRIAD project, supported by NHS GM Mental Health and Baring Foundation.

Over the day we will explore the role of creative practice in supporting global majority mental health, discuss the importance of culturally competent practice and share the learning we have gathered over the past two years.

The event will bring together change makers from the cultural, mental health and VCFSE sectors alongside creative and mental health practitioners and wider community members to ensure that the learning from MYRIAD is consolidated and disseminated and that the publication of the MYRIAD Resource supports new initiatives to flourish. Speakers include: Martina Witter: Vice-Chair Greater Manchester Combined Authority Race Equality Panel and Julie McCarthy: Strategic Lead for Creative Health NHS GM.

The day will include:

  • The launch of a resource to support practice, including a Core Competency Framework for Global Majority Creative Mental Health Practitioners.
  • A look at the learning from 5 pilot projects delivered by VCFSE organisations and global majority communities.
  • Hearing case studies from VCFSE organisations and global majority practitioners.
  • A discussion on the importance of cultural competency and the role of creative practice in sustaining this.

The full agenda for the day will be published in early June and will include a talks, panels and workshops.
